The 2012 NSW Endurance Championships hosted by Surf Life Saving NSW is on again, this time on the beautiful shores of Swansea Belmont in the Hunter. Carnival organizers will utilise the area’s natural environment as part of the challenging courses for selected events.
Were you involved in the 2012 Endurance Championships? Take the survey!
Swim Course: The swim course will cover approximately 2km and members will each have the opportunity to swim alongside some of the State’s best Surf Life Savers.
Board Course: The board race will cover 4km for every age division (U15 through to 50ys+). The course itself could be quite challenging if the conditions are favorable for the swell to hit.
Surf Boat Course: The surf boats are back racing at the event after a successful introduction to last year’s program with a challenging 8km course around the island, located north of Lake Entrance. The 8km course will test a crews early season endurance and with one nominated crew member required to exit the boat and finish across the line, the results could come down to the last few strokes.
Ski Course: Ski Paddlers will be able to contest in the 8km course in the U19 & Opens ages which will follow the surf boats around the Island while the remaining age groups will cover a total of 6km.
Beach Run: 5 grueling kilometers across soft sand that will test even the most seasoned of runners.
Enduro Iron Person Events: M-shape extended course iron person format.
Entries are again open to the public in the Ocean Swim, Beach Run and Ski race.
