The IMB Cook Community Classic is part of a festival of events supported by the local MP and Bate Bay (Cronulla-Sutherland District) surf life saving clubs.
Swim: Cook Community Classic
Organiser: Bate Bay surf life saving clubs with local MP, Scott Morrison
Where: South Cronulla beach
Distance: 2km, 1km
Minimum age: 14
Course: The swims start and finish at South Cronulla Beach. This means the break will be relatively sheltered, although there may be rolling swells and chop on the way along the course. Both swims follow circuits from the beach.
Start Time: 9am (1km), 10am (2km)
Registration: On race day, in Cronulla SLSC clubhouse, close 8:30am (1km) and 9:30am (2km)
Entry fee: $40 (2km), $30 (1km), $60 (both swims). For entries on race day, add $10 to each entry fee, thus $50 (2km), $40 (1km), and $70 (both swims)
Online entries close: Noon, Saturday, November 17
Parking: On-street, nearby carparks, or use public transport to get to Cronulla. City Rail runs services to within 200m of South Cronulla beach, so this is a very convenient way to get to the swim venue.
