Lifesaving Exchange Program (Country to City)

The program is aimed at new Patrol Captains between the ages of 18 and 30 years with limited to moderate experience and aims to broaden lifesaving experiences, develop surf lifesaving skills, provide new experiences and increase lifesaving standards of volunteer surf lifesavers in NSW.

This program is open to members in all Branches excluding Sydney Northern Beaches and Sydney.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Actively patrol major Sydney metro beaches such as Bondi, Coogee and Maroubra
  • Patrol on the Offshore Rescue Boat (Surf Rescue 30)
  • Tour SurfCom Sydney and the Southern Region Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Base
  • Visit the headquarters of Surf Life Saving New South Wales and Surf Life Saving Australia

The program will provide an exciting opportunity for Patrol Captains to challenge their skills by participating in surf lifesaving activities in a new environment and identify initiatives/ methods that can be implemented in their own clubs.

All travel, meals and accommodation will be provided at no cost to participants.

How to Apply

To apply for the program, please complete the application form along with the required information.

Once you have completed the form you will need to seek endorsement from your club and once endorsed submit your branch office. The branch will submit your application on your behalf to SLSNSW and you will be contacted regarding its status.

Applications will close with branches on Friday 30 November 2012.
