Rooster's River Run Surf Boat Marathon

The Rooster's River Run Surf Boat Marathon will be held on Saturday 10 October with seven different boat divisions racing 12 kms down Georges River.

The event starts at Cattle Duffler’s Flat in the Georges River National Park, Revesby and all crews will race to the St George Sailing Club, Taren Point.

CREW MEMBERS: The crew will consist of five (5) members from the entering club, who are eligible to compete under SLSA rules. No substitutions are permitted during the race, but any five (5) of the crew may sweep or row. Rolling seats are permissible for the event and there is no limit to the number of crews per club. Crews “nudging” the sweep oar of the boat in front of them, will be warned once, then will be penalised if this action continues.

SUPPORT CRAFT: Support craft will be supplied by SLS Sydney. All individual club support craft must keep within the channel markers and keep well away from competing boats. Crews do not have to follow channel markers – but must not enter oyster leases.

START TIMES: 8.30am check in for a 9.30am start. Crews will be released in one minute waves by division in the following order: U23 WOMEN, U19 MEN, OPEN WOMEN, U23 MEN, VETERANS, RESERVE GRADE, OPEN MEN.

RACE BONUS: A $100 bonus will be awarded to a “Winning Crew only” – who breaks the current race record in each division. Current race records stand at:
