Country Champs Profile: Bailey Krstevski
With just four sleeps until the 2016 Stramit NSW Country Surf Life Saving Championships get underway, it’s time to get to know the athletes looking to write their name into the annals of the history of this longstanding and popular event.
It’s been a stellar summer for Warilla’s Bailey Krstevski with the youngster hoping to ride the wave of success into this week’s Country Championships.
At just 11-years-of-age, this pasta loving lifesaver is rapidly building an impressive resume on the surf sport scene.
In 2015 he won three gold medals at the Country Championships in Mollymook, recorded a personal haul of 5 gold medals at the South Coast Branch Championships, and was named South Coast Competitor of the Year in the U11-14 age group.
His hot run of form has continued this season with the talented youngster medalling in all 7 events at the recent Branch Championships. This included stepping up an age group and winning gold in the U13 Board Rescue event.
As someone who very much enjoys the social side of lifesaving, one of the things that Bailey says he is most looking forward to about making the journey to South West Rocks is the opportunity to catch up with the friends that he has made from the northern branches.
