Couple Rescued by Off-Duty Lifesaver
A Far South Coast couple were lucky to have an off-duty lifesaver nearby when their boat capsized north of Batemans Bay.
At about 11.30 am on 10 June a 35 year old man and woman from the ACT capsized their boat off Myrtle Beach, near South Durras north of Batemans Bay.
An off duty lifesaver was nearby in a private boat and was on scene in seconds. The Westpac Lifesaver rescue helicopter responded and winched the two on board.
Batemans Bay lifesavers responded along with Marine Rescue and NSW Maritime.
The boat was salvaged and towed to South Durras. The couple from the ACT suffered only minor cuts and abrasions and were otherwise unharmed.
