Happy International Volunteer Day

Today is International Volunteer Day and to celebrate this momentous occasion here are some statistics from the current 2014-15 season all made possible by you - the volunteers!

Since the 2014-15 Surf Life Saving season kicked off on 21 September 2014, volunteers on the beach have:

  • contributed 176,029 patrol hours
  • performed 1207 rescues
  • performed 32,822 preventative actions
  • conducted 2438 first aid treatments
  • responded to 192 calls to the emergency response system

Our volunteers not only dedicate their time on the beach but off the beach as well. The Surf Emergency Response System (SurfCom) has seen people contribute 1211.25 hours for the 2014-15 season so far.

Thank you to all our volunteers for your passion, diligence and service in keeping NSW beaches safe.
