Hunter Surf Clubs Set Standards For NSW
Hunter Surf Life Saving is leading by example in NSW with all thirteen Surf Clubs having succeeded in the ambitious task of completing the bronze level status in the Quality Club Program in NSW.
The Hunter is the first branch in the state for 2012/13 to achieve bronze level status for every club in the program; a tool for clubs to utilise for reviewing their current activities and ensure best practice is being achieved in all areas of club operations and management.
This includes governance, finance, member development, education lifesaving and training. There are three levels to work through - bronze, silver and gold.
This achievement highlights the hard work, dedication and motivation the members of the branch and thirteen clubs have in creating stronger clubs and safer beaches within their community.
Hunter Surf Life Saving CEO Rhonda Scruton is proud of the clubs' participation in the Quality Club Program.
"All clubs attained bronze level status with the response being very positive. It has now set up succession planning within the clubs and has ensured that important information will be easily accessible in all areas of club operations."
"Through completion of the Quality Club Program, surf clubs have gained an understanding of the whole picture and the importance of working as a team and realising that with an integrated and more professional system put in place surf clubs will wholeheartedly benefit," said Rhonda Scruton.
