Lifeguards Perform Mass Rescue At Scotts Head

Six teenagers have been rescued by Lifeguards in dramatic circumstances at Scotts Head.

The Lifeguards from the Australian Lifeguard Service had finished patrol for the day when they noticed that seven swimmers were getting into trouble in a rip near the Scotts Head Point.

They immediately ran back to the surf club and grabbed two rescue boards to rescue the swimmers.

The Lifeguards rescued six teenagers between the two of them while the seventh made it to shore by themselves.

Bellingen and Nabucca Australian Lifeguard Supervisor, Kale Hopper, praised the quick and professional response by the Lifeguards.

"It was a great effort today by our Lifeguards. Considering they had already finished for the day, they did a fantastic job to quickly get their rescue boards and respond to a dangerous situation unfolding in the water."
