Lifesavers Resus Man Pulled From Surf
Coogee volunteer surf lifesavers have successfully resuscitated a 25 yr old male who was pulled from the surf at around 1pm today.
Members of the public brought the man ashore unconscious and unresponsive, possibly due to a medical condition. Lifesavers commenced CPR and within about 30 seconds the patient responded and began to breathe normally.
Lifesavers monitored his condition until paramedics arrived and he was taken to hospital by Ambulance.
This successful outcome is a timely reminder that people should swim at a patrolled beach where lifesavers or lifeguards trained in first aid and emergency situations are ready to respond.
Extreme temperatures on Sunday are expected across the state and the public is reminded that swimming between the red and yellow flags is vital as lifesavers will be on high alert watching over the large crowds expected to flock to beaches.
