Pool Rescue Athletes Develop Their Skills
Surf athletes from across the state concentrated on developing their skills in the pool last weekend at the 2013 SLSNSW Pool Rescue Clinic & Pool Rescue High Performance Program at St Ignatius College (Riverview)in Lane Cove, Sydney.
Some of Australia’s leading pool rescue coaches put over 70 athletes with a wide range of skill levels through a series of drills, clinics and programs to further develop their Pool Rescue talents.
The program catered for grass roots swimmers with no experience all the way up to a high performance course for representative level, elite athletes.
Many of the state’s top pool swimmers who are heavily favoured to dominate at the upcoming SLSNSW Pool Rescue Championships (27-28 July) attended the clinic.
Past champions Josh Brown (Byron Bay), Sam Earp (Swansea-Belmont), Ela Heiniger (Byron Bay) and Terrigal’s Gasparotto sisters, Elyssia and Alessandra, spent the weekend further developing their manikin carries, line throws and brick tows and will be hard to beat at the Championships.
The 2013 SLSNSW Pool Rescue Championships will be held at the Peninsula Leisure Centre, Woy Woy on Saturday 27th July- Sunday 28th July.
