Racing To Save Lives
In 2013 participants in the Blackmore's Sydney Running Festival have the opportunity to fund raise for Surf Life Saving NSW as their charity of choice .
Last year more than 34,000 people ran in the event, raising over $2 million for charitable organisations and this year we are calling for entrants to run for Surf Life Saving.
As a not-for-profit, Surf Life Saving NSW relies heavily on community support to help us continue to create a safe environment on NSW beaches and coastlines through voluntary patrols, education and training, public safety campaigns and the promotion of health and fitness.
SLSNSW Partnerships Manager, Alistair Russell, highlights that the festival represents the ‘healthy lifestyle’ values of Surf Life Saving NSW.
“The Blackmore’s Running Festival offers a unique fundraising opportunity for supporters of Surf Life Saving NSW. Not only can supporters choose us as their charity of choice and raise funds towards vital initiatives, but they can also achieve fantastic personal fitness results at the same time.”
The event caters for everyone from professional athletes to social strollers. Participants can choose to run in the Marathon (42km), Half Marathon (21km), Bridge Run (9km) or Family Fun Run (3.5km).
Running for a good cause has never been easier so if you've decided to run for Surf Life Saving you can start fundraising through the Blackmores Running Festival fundraising portal.
Blackmore’s Sydney Running Festival will be held on Sunday 22nd September.
