Surf Club's Receive Free Gym Equipment

Over 100 units of gym equipment has been distributed to surf clubs throughout New South Wales this autumn.

The high quality equipment was generously donated from Fitness First to Surf Life Saving NSW and was then offered to the clubs.

24 Surf Clubs including 16 from regional areas such as Ballina SLSC in the state’s north, to as far south as Batemans Bay SLSC made the trip to Surf Life Saving NSW HQ in Sydney to pick up their equipment.

The value of this donation to surf clubs cannot be underestimated with it often taking years for clubs to fund gym equipment on top of all the other Surf Life Saving equipment that needs replacing or upgrading every season.

“This contribution has allowed our small club a chance to offer members a number of options to improve their fitness and skills. The equipment we have received is of excellent condition and value and really adds to what we are building here,” said Batemans Bay SLSC Club Captain, Anthony Vella.

Managing Director of Fitness First, Pete Manuel, says the company is a strong supporter of Surf Life Saving.

“Fitness First is truly proud to support SLSNSW, and the great work they do in our community to protect our active way of life. As a member of Manly SLSC, it's an organisation I know well and believe in deeply. I see the work in action, and know how important fitness is to all the members. Between us, we have a lot of common ground; the enjoyment of an active lifestyle, and the ability to support our respective members in reaching their personal potential."
