Surf Lifesaving Paddlers Head to Germany

Four surf lifesavers have been chosen to represent Australia at the 2013 Canoe Sprint World Championships in Duisberg Germany.

Following a second weekend of selection trials, Olympic gold medallists Murray Stewart, David Smith, fellow Olympian Naomi Flood and young gun, current Australian Surf Ski champion Lachlan Tame, were rewarded for strong performances.

Weekend results from the Penrith course included Stewart taking out the K1 & K2 1000m and Naomi Flood impressing with victories in the K1 & K2 500m.

The team now splits up as they head to various race specific training camps before heading overseas to prepare for the world championships.
