Vale: Paul Hammond

Surf Life Saving NSW is deeply saddened to advise that Masters competitor, mentor, coach and friend Paul Hammond of Queenscliff SLSC has passed away.

Paul fought a courageous battle after being diagnosed with prostate cancer, and passed away peacefully with his loving wife Sukie by his side.

Paul was a dedicated competitor who ran his last race in the Masters relay at the Surf Life Saving Australia Championships in Perth, but unfortunately became too sick to travel to France with wife Sukie for the World Championships last month.

Paul will be sorely missed.

There will be no funeral service for Paul but instead a beach ceremony and the scattering of ashes at Queenscliff Beach on Sunday 9 November 2014 with further details to be confirmed by Queenscliff SLSC.

Our deepest sympathies are with Sukie, the rest of Paul's friends and family and fellow clubbies.
