Youth Opportunity Makers Workshop
Applications are now open for the 2013 Youth Opportunities Makers Workshop to be held at The Collaroy Centre, Sydney, from 23-26 April.
The program has been developed to support surf life saving's youth members and provide them with opportunities to exchange ideas, participate in activities designed to broaden their understanding of the organisation and show them what other opportunities are available.
The workshop provides an environment where the participants can build on their existing skill sets, engage in the creation and development of goal setting, as well as being able to work as part of a team. A key focus is for the participants to improve their confidence and self esteem whilst positively recognising members.
SLSNSW Member Services Manager, Claire Parry, says, "This program showcases the many opportunities that Surf Life Saving can provide to youth within the movement. We are certainly looking forward to providing an exciting and innovative platform for our youth members to develop their skills and experiences. This program is coordinated and facilitated by an amazing group of young leaders who have been through the program in previous years, and these volunteers create an energetic program over the four days."
The program is open to 15-17 year olds who are financial and proficient members of a NSW Surf Life Saving Club.
More information and application details can be found on the Youth Opportunity Makers Workshop Event Page.
