The Senior First Aid Course is approved by the WorkCover Authority (FA04151) and delivers the essential principals, skills and knowledge for you to manage emergency first aid situations until professional medical support is available.

COURSE CONTENT |
|
· The Principals of First Aid
· Managing emergency situations
· Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
· Treatment of infection, shock, fractures, bleeding and burns
· Emergencies due to lack of oxygen, excess heat or cold
· Management of common medical emergencies
· Treatment of poisoning and envenomation |

PREREQUISITES |
|
·· A candidate must be a minimum of 15 years old on the date of final assessment. |
|
QUALIFICATION PERIOD |
|
Participants who successfully complete the theory and practical assessments of this course attain a Senior First Aid Qualification valid for three years from the date of final assessment. Graduates of this course are also required to complete an annual CPR Refresher to maintain their qualification.
