RESUSCITATION CERTIFICATE (CPR)

COURSE PURPOSE

The SLSNSW CPR course delivers the essential principals, skills and knowledge to maintain or restore breathing and circulation.

PREREQUISITES

A candidate must be a minimum of 10 years of age on the date of final assessment.

·         External Cardiac Compression (ECC)

·         1 & 2 person operation

·         Infant, Child and Adult techniques

COURSE STANDARDS

Courses are run under the guidelines of the Australian Resuscitation Council in line with best practice systems.

COURSE INFORMATION

Duration: Courses run for 4 hours

Location: Courses are run by Nationally Recognised Trainers and Assessors to members of affiliated clubs and the general community

Numbers: 2–30

Qualification Period: CPR qualifications are valid for the period of twelve months (one year) from the date of assessment.

REFRESHER COURSES

Surf Life Saving also delivers CPR refresher courses to deliver an update on current CPR practices and knowledge. These run for two hours (approx) and are conducted within twelve months of obtaining initial CPR training.
