NSW SPORT AND RECREATION SPORT MANAGER COURSES
NSW Sport and Recreation are currently piloting 2 new programs Orientation to Managing Sport Teams in April 2008 and Managing Clubs and Senior Teams in May 2008. Please find attached flyer which includes, dates, venue and times.

SURF CLUB FACILITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM 2008/2009 IS NOW OPEN
The Department of Sport and Recreation’s continued support of SLSNSW under its Safety and Rescue Services Program provides invaluable financial and material assistance to our organisation. In addition, their $2 Million of support per annum available to NSW surf life saving clubs through the Surf Club Facility Development Program enables essential and major capital works to take place. AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE
The Awards of Excellence is a great opportunity to recognise the efforts and achievements of your members. The formal awards night is on 3 May 2008. Click here for your invitation. MEDIA AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
We are currently seeking a high performing Media and Communications Officer to join our Marketing team.  Reporting to the General Manager you will play a key role within the team and be responsible for:

Preparing media releases and articles for internal and external audiences
Working closely with the Marketing team to develop proactive initiatives to build awareness of our programs and accomplishments
Liaison with external media representatives
Liaison with internal departments
Editing, reviewing and publishing the organisation’s publications and website
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, hard working and have an understanding of not for profit organisations.  You will also have proven experience in a similar role with an understanding of Surf Lifesaving being an advantage. YOUTH PARTICIPANT GRANTS PROGRAM
Youth Action and Policy Association (YAPA) are offering grants to the value of $5,500 to young people between the ages of 12 – 25 for community activities in their local area. Ideas for projects include websites, community days, festivals, recreation programs, youth forums etc...Applications close on 24 April 2008 (round 1)  and 25 July 2008 (round 2). FORSTER SLSC - CLUB TO CLUB SWIM
Forster SLSC's main fundraiser for the year is coming up on the 27th April – the annual club to club swim. The course starts at Cape Hawke Surf Club and goes for 3.8km to Forster Surf Club. There's an easier course too –  the YMCA Pebbly Beach 1k swim. Online entry is available at http://www.oceanswims.com/

PETALS ON THE WATER
Petals on the Water Ltd invite female boat crews and any male boat crews to participate in a memorial service for breast cancer. “Petals on the Water” will be held in Farm Cove near the Opera House on Sunday 11 May 2008 at 11.00am in conjunction with the Mothers Day Classic Walk for breast cancer and the Pinkwater Pinks Dragon Boats breast cancer survivors. NRMA HELPING PEOPLE AWARDS
NRMA Helping People Awards are a great opportunity to recognise the contributions of our members. Categories include Community Volunteer Award (25-59 years), Seniors Volunteer Award (60+ years), Environmental Volunteer Award (25-59 years), Young Volunteer Award (17-24 years).
