SLSNSW 2006-07 DROWNING REPORT PUBLISHED At the end of each season, SLSNSW gathers extensive information on drowning incidents along the coast and produces the Coastal Drowning Report. Figures for the 2006-07 season have been analysed and two key points emerged - that over 60% of the 36 people who drowned in the period were not born in Australia and that nearly 90% of the fatalities were men. No drownings occurred between the flags during patrol hours and this highlights the high level of effectiveness of the preventative measures and safety strategies used by surf lifesaving's dedicated volunteers. The full report is available here.
SLSA SURFGUARD UPGRADE - PAYMENTS TO CLUBS MADE EASIER SLSA is trialing a universal payment gateway that clubs and other entities in the organisation can use to collect payments by credit card and EFT deposit into club accounts. To help with this development, SLSA needs a list of Clubs, Support Operations, Branches and State Bank Account Details. Please find the SurfGuard Advisory here. Collecting these details will allow for direct DEPOSITS only into the accounts. If you are having any difficulty with the above, please contact your SurfGuard Support person OR the SurfGuard Helpdesk on surfguardhelp@slsa.asn.au or 1300 724 006. More information will be provided to Clubs on the payment gateway when the development has commenced.
