2009 NATIONAL LEADERSHIP COLLEGE - NOMINATIONS OPEN
The National Leadership College is the perfect member development experience for your club's future leaders. Participants will be involved in leadership training that is specially designed for members aged 20-30 years of age. Nominations close at Surf Life Saving NSW 16 October 2009. SLSA TRAINING IN INDIA
SLSA is currently working with Rashtriya Life Saving Society India on a number of developmental projects. The first one of which is a lifesaving training program planned for Gwalior, India from 24 to 31 October inclusive. SLSA are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experience Trainer Assessor to travel to India from 22 October to 4 November to take a lead role in the delivery of the program.

JUNIOR COOLANGATTA GOLD ENTRY FORM
Entries are now open for the Junior Coolangatta Gold to be conducted on Sunday 18th October 2009 at Surfers Paradise beach. Any athletes who are members of clubs outside of Queensland please enter by clicking here for the manual entry form.

The updated manual for the Bronze Medallion and SRC has been released and is available to clubs. Significant changes have been made to the format and content. Click here for more information.
BOATS AT RESCUE 2010
The ILS Sport Commission has announced that surf boat and IRB racing will be included in the World Lifesaving Championships to be held in Egypt in October 2010. Officials for these events are needed. To nominate please click here.

VOLUNTEER GRANTS
The Australian Government is inviting applications for funding under the Volunteer Grants Program 2009. The program provides funds to eligible organisations with volunteers actively working in the community. Organisations can apply for up to $5000 to support the work of volunteers, including purchasing small equipment and sporting items, or contributing to fuel costs. Applications close 25 September, 2009. Click here to apply.

PROHIBITED EMPLOYMENT DECLARATION FORMS
The season is fast approaching, and a membership form must be completed and signed by all members at the beginning of each season whether joining, renewing or transferring membership. In addition to this SLSA form, a prohibited employment declaration form must be signed annually and must be recorded on Surfguard. If applicants do not complete this form, their membership application/renewal will not be accepted. Please refer to the circular for a copy of the forms and processing requirements.

JUNIOR ACTIVITIES WATER SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Clubs should familiarise themselves with the requirements for water safety when conducting junior aquatic activities. All clubs and branches are to ensure they comply with the Lifesaving Standard Operating Procedures concerning water safety requirements for junior aquatic activities. PLANNING SERVICES FOR LICENCED CLUBS
An architectural consultancy specialising in assisting clubs to maximise the commercial viability of their operations is offering a range of design and planning services to NSW surf clubs wanting to better utilise their facilities. Click here for more information.

FENN CUP 2009
Oceanpaddler.com together with Long Reef Surf Club is running a Four Race Ocean Paddling Series with cash and prizes worth over $50,000. The series is to be held over 3 weekends. Paddlers will have the opportunity to compete in either the 16-20km FENN CUP Downwind Paddle or 8km SKODA CHALLENGE 2 lap Circuit. It’s open to all types of paddle craft including Ocean racing skis, SLSA skis, plastic skis, doubles, Outrigger Canoes OC1s & OC2s and an exciting new category for Stand Up Paddle Boards.
