Description Coledale SLSC Established 1916
Coledale is a 300m-long, east-facing beach lying just below Lawrence Hargrave Drive and the town of the same name. A road runs the length of the beach with ample parking and picnic facilities on the site of the now closed beachfront camping area. Twenty tall Norfolk Island pine trees line the southern half of the beach. The surf club lies just below the southern headland and the local primary school. A 20m-high headland and extensive rock platforms border the northern end, while in the south a wider platform backs a narrow strip of sand at the base of the cliff. A creek flows across the northern beach and following heavy rain and big seas the sand is stripped off revealing a cobble and boulder beach below.
