How do I become a surf lifesaver?
Anyone can become a surf lifesaver. Contact your local club to find out which level of involvement is right for you. Click here to find a Surf Club near you.

How long has the surf lifesaving movement been in existence?
Surf lifesaving was formally inaugurated in 1907. During 2007 the centenary of lifesaving was celebrated  in the Year of the Lifesaver.

How can I support SLSNSW?

How many people were saved on our beaches last year?
In season 2007/08, there were:

7310 lives saved; 
12,729 first aid measures performed; and 
133,543 preventative actions taken.

ON THE SAME WAVE WINS AWARD
SLSNSW has won Gold at state level for the second year at last week's NSW Sports Safety Awards for the 'On the Same Wave' program. The surf safety message has now reached more than 4500 people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Read more....
