SUMMARY:Lifesaving Skills Development Program
DESCRIPTION:The SLSNSW Lifesaving Skills Development Program is open to patrolling lifesavers who are interested in developing and enhancing their lifesaving skills and experiencing a taster pathways in SLSNSW. The program will offer skill development both in the water and on the sand\, and aims to build the confidence and capability of lifesavers across the state though fun scenario-based training and hands on learning.   \nProgram Focus/Content:  \nThe Lifesaving Skills Development Program (1 day program) will focus on:  \n\nEnhancing Bronze Medallion skills (board paddling\, rescue techniques\, radio\, basic first aid) \n\n\nAwareness of advanced awards  \n\n\nFocus on non-positional leadership \n\n\nIncreasing confidence to make rescues\, and excitement and passion for surf lifesaving \n\nThe Advanced Lifesaving Skills Development Program (1.5 day program) will focus on:  \n\nEnhancing lifesaving skills (board paddling\, rescue techniques\, radio\, first aid\, advanced resuscitation\,) \n\n\nAwareness of Rescue Services pathways \n\n\nFocus on crisis leadership \n\n\nIncreasing confidence to make rescues\, and excitement and passion for surf lifesaving \n\nMore information to come. Key dates at this stage include (with more dates and locations to be announced): \n7 June – South Maroubra (SYD) \n21-22 June – Palm Beach (SNB) \n28 June – Tacking Point (MNC)

DESCRIPTION:The SLSNSW Advanced IRB Skills Development Program\, formerly delivered as the Australian Lifesaving Boat Emergency Rescue Training (ALBERT) Program\, delivers Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) training to enhance operator skills and experience\, and grow confidence. The program aims to enhance the skills and experience of lifesavers through collaborative and consistent training\, utilising a mix of drill-based activities\, dedicated coaching\, and scenario-based training. \nThe program is open to patrolling lifesavers who have obtained their Silver Medallion IRB Drivers Certificate and/or IRB Crew Certificate. \nKey dates include: \n22-23 February – Bulli SLSC \n22-23 March – South West Rocks SLSC \n12-13 April – Maroubra SLSC \nGET INVOLVED
