Membership Manager

This role will support membership growth within Surf Life Saving NSW by developing strategies for member recruitment, retention, inclusion and welfare.

Surf Life Saving NSW is the state’s primary water safety and rescue organisation and one of the largest volunteer movements in the country. We support more than 75,000 members in 129 clubs to serve the community through the provision of beach patrol services, coastal emergency response, training and education, sports and junior development.

We are seeking a friendly and outgoing Membership Manager to actively grow memberships within Surf Life Saving NSW surf clubs. The Membership Manager will be responsible for developing new and exciting strategies for member retention and explore development opportunities for current and potential new members. 

Duties include:

  • Developing strategies to grow and retain memberships within NSW surf clubs.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to the membership team.
  • Overseeing the delivery of projects and programs provided to club members.

Experience required:

  • Excellent people management skills.
  • Experience working in a similar volunteer engagement/recruitment role.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in budget management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills including networking and persuading across a variety of audiences.

The right person for this role will be highly motivated leader who understands the importance of the volunteer experience in ensuring organisational success. Experience in developing grant application and reporting is an advantage.
