The Safeguarding Children and Young People Program assists Surf Life Saving in our commitment to the protection of children from abuse, harm and exploitation

The program builds the capacity of SLS to protect our children and young people by providing resources and education to support clubs to provide a safe environment for all members, and is underwritten by the Surf Life Saving Australia Member Protection Policy. Resources, webinars and an online training course have been developed to assist all Clubs to achieve these standards, all of which can be accessed from the SLSA Website.

Implement the six key safeguarding steps at your club, to ensure that safeguarding is everybody’s business. Each step contains a suggested approach for clubs to follow, as well as associated resources to support club implementation. These include sample agenda items, club newsletter articles, social media tiles as well as resources to support club implementation are found in the Safeguarding Resources Toolkit.
