Many years of hard work and focus on a singular goal came to a head at South West Rocks on Wednesday 15 July, where a strong NSW side ended a streak of Queensland dominance to triumph at the Sharkskin 2026 Australian IRB Interstate Championships. 

Despite a spirited challenge from North Cronulla SLSC, a fourth straight title is heading back to Lake Macquarie after Caves Beach SLSC triumphed, once again, at the 2026 Sharkskin NSW IRB Championships in Fingal Bay. 

It’s another Sharkskin NSW Inflatable Rescue Boat Premiership title for Caves Beach SLSC, but the win came with a statement from a Sydney club that the chasing pack is getting closer and closer with every race.

Surf Life Saving NSW members and initiatives will contest five categories at the upcoming NSW Community Sports Awards, while a stalwart of country surf sports will be recognised with a Distinguished Long Service Award. 

Two of four 2026 Sharkskin NSW Inflatable Rescue Boat Premiership rounds are in the books, with teams passing the halfway mark and chasing incumbent champions, Caves Beach SLSC back towards the finish line. 

11 years of Newport SLSC dominance came to an end on Sunday 1 March as Wanda SLSC topped the overall club point score at the 2026 NSW Surf Life Saving Open Championships, proudly presented by Your local club.

After a stuttering start to the carnival, the 2026 NSW Surf Life Saving Open Championships, proudly presented by Your local club, hit full speed on day two, with teams medals won and places in Sunday’s finals package earned across Blacksmiths Beach.
