2024 SLSNSW Lifesaving Conference

July 27 @ 9:30 am - July 28 @ 1:00 pm

The doors are open, and we are ready to welcome members to the 2024 SLSNSW Lifesaving Conference on 26-28 July at Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach.

The conference theme is Creating a sustainable future: Lifesaving at the grassroots – the challenges and opportunities. The event will be a fantastic opportunity for clubs across the state to come together and discuss topics relating to the three key conference themes that were identified from member feedback:

  1. Volunteerism and lifesaving
  2. Strengthening our core purpose
  3. Lifesaving into the future

Attendance

Registrations are now open to Club Presidents and Club Captains, with an additional space available for each club to ensure diverse age and gender representation – ideally an emerging lifesaving leader. Branch Presidents and members from the Lifesaving Standing Committees are also invited to join this event using this link REGISTER HERE

Other interested members can join the conference waitlist, and these members will be invited to join should other clubs not utilise their allocated spaces.  Members can join the waitlist by using the registration link above.

All registrations must have club support and approval prior to submission, and the deadline for registrations is midnight on Sunday 26 May.

Travel and Accommodation Subsidies

Driving

Members driving to the conference from MNC, LNC, HUN, CC, SNB, SYD, ILL, SC and FSC will be able to claim mileage subsidies (capped amounts dependent on location) by completing an expense claim form with the kilometres travelled.  These subsidy amounts are based on average mileage distances, and are as follows:

  • MNC: $450 (fuel)
  • LNC: $420 (fuel)
  • HUN: $320 (fuel)

  • SNB: $80 (fuel)
  • SYD: $55 (fuel)
  • ILL: $120 (fuel)
  • SC: $240 (fuel)

Parking will be available at the Novotel throughout the conference and will also be covered for the duration of your stay.  Please bring your parking ticket to the registration desk for validation prior to your departure.

Flights

Flights for members travelling to and from the conference will be subsidised.  Flights will need to be booked by the individual/club, and an expense claim form submitted (with proof of purchase / ticket receipt).  Subsidy figures for each member are listed below and are based on average airline ticket prices.  Please note that ticket prices traditionally rise as the departure date nears.

  • FNC: $350 (flights)
  • NC: $400 (flights)
  • MNC: $450 (flights)

The conference will end with lunch on Sunday 28th July with the airport shuttle bus organised to depart Novotel Brighton Le Sands at 1.00pm.  Return flights can be booked to depart any time after 2.00pm.
