A big thank you to the volunteer lifesavers from @deewhyslsc who gave their time to be part of the event. It was great to see such genuine engagement and connection throughout the day. These moments all play a part in creating safer beaches, waterways and communities.

#HARMONYWEEK // 🧡 Harmony Week is here, marking a national celebration of Australia’s cultural diversity and the strength that comes from fostering a genuine sense of belonging.
The week encourages us to reflect on the values that help communities thrive:
✨ Respect for the cultures, languages and traditions that shape our society
✨ Inclusion so every person feels welcome, safe and valued
✨ Belonging by creating environments where differences are embraced
These principles are central to Surf Life Saving NSW. Our volunteers, members and beachgoers represent a wide range of backgrounds, and this diversity enriches our clubs, strengthens our patrols and enhances the support we provide along the NSW coastline.
Throughout Harmony Week, we acknowledge and celebrate the many cultures that form our Surf Life Saving family, and we continue our commitment to ensuring everyone feels included, supported and proud to wear the red and yellow. 🧡
When everyone belongs, our communities flourish.

#PARTNERSHIPS // Surf Life Saving NSW is proud to announce a new partnership with Reconciliation NSW as we begin our journey toward a Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
Reconciliation NSW is the peak body for reconciliation in our state, bringing together First Nations and non‑Indigenous people to build a fair, respectful and culturally strong NSW.
Through this partnership, SLSNSW will connect with resources, networks and community voices that strengthen reconciliation. It will support us to continue to build cultural awareness across the organisation, empower our members, volunteers and staff with tools for inclusive practice, and engage in shared learning that deepens respect and connection across our communities. This work will guide meaningful and sustainable change at every level of SLSNSW.
Our Reflect RAP marks the first step in strengthening our commitment to learning, listening and creating safer, more inclusive spaces for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We are grateful to be progressing this work alongside Reconciliation NSW.

#IWD2026 // We are very lucky that being involved with Surf Life Saving means equal opportunities for all. When we talk to young girls through to 90 year old women we hear about how there’s something for everyone in a surf club and young girls aspire to hold awards and positions with no limitations. We are lucky. In many places around the world, equality is still a far dream. So on International Women’s Day it’s important to remember the significance of #GivetoGain and doing what you can to ensure you’re contributing in some way to making the (whole) world a place where equality rules.
What are you doing to celebrate at your club today?
