#STATECHAMPS26 // Masters 2026 wrapped and Bondi on top🏆

Two massive days at Blacksmiths Beach have come to a close and @bondisurf.club have claimed the Overall Point Score at the 2026 NSW Surf Life Saving Masters Championships, proudly presented by Your local club.

Bondi finished on 458 points to defend their 2025 crown, ahead of @northbondislsc (359) and @manlylsc (271), while Wamberal SLSC surged to fourth in a huge climb from 11th last year. Central Coast clubs made a strong statement with four in the top 10, and @rscsurfsports led the Hunter charge in eighth.

Across the carnival, Bondi’s 19 gold and 63 total medals set the pace, with standout wins to Troy Stewart, Jayson Lincoln and Lisa O’Donnell. North Bondi and Manly matched the intensity through strong relay and ski performances, while Wamberal’s Colleen Harrison headlined Central Coast success with Iron and Ski Relay gold.

Local clubs delivered big moments throughout, from @shellybeachslsc’s Taplin victory to @stockton_slsc, Redhead and @newcastle_surf_lifesaving_club relay and ski wins, while @portmacslscyouthhq’s Raelene Myers and @wollongongcityslsc’s Ben Squiers were among the individual standouts.

Hundreds of masters athletes. Two days of racing. One champion club.

Next up, Open and Surf Boat from Friday to Sunday to close out the 2026 NSW Surf Life Saving Championships.

#BEACHSAFETY // Volunteers from @newcastle_surf_lifesaving_club delivered their first Beach Safety Program last weekend with A Splash of Colour Swimming.

Participants built ocean confidence while learning key beach safety skills, including how to identify rip currents, understand patrol flags, manage sun exposure, respond to marine stings, and apply basic first aid and CPR. Surf Life Saving NSW is proud to support programs that create culturally inclusive pathways into swimming and beach environments for communities who previously had limited access to this kind of water safety education.

#STATECHAMPS26 // Bondi are your 2026 SLSNSW State Lifesaving Champions🥇

Two big weekends of competition wrapped up at Blacksmiths and Caves Beach, where competitors from U15 through to 60+ representing 16 clubs across NSW went head to head in the surf, on the sand and in high pressure first aid scenarios.

After all events were tallied, the final standings read:
🥇 Bondi – 100 points
🥈 North Steyne – 57 points
🥉 Freshwater – (an incredibly close) 56 points

@bondisurf.club set the standard across the carnival with four gold medals, including wins in the 60+ Female Champion Lifesaver, 50 to 59 Male Champion Lifesaver and 40 to 49 Male Champion Lifesaver, along with four silver and eight bronze medals to seal the overall title.

@northsteyneslsc claimed two gold, four silver and three bronze medals in a consistent showing across multiple age divisions.

@freshwater_slsc turned up in numbers and made it count, finishing first and third in the U15 First Aid, second and third in the 60+ Female Champion Lifesaver, first in the 30 to 39 Female Champion Lifesaver, plus gold in both the U17 and Open Champion First Aid events.

#STATECHAMPS26 // Adaptive Championships bring the biggest smiles to Blacksmiths Beach!

Around 60 athletes hit the sand and surf on Sunday for the 2026 NSW Surf Life Saving Adaptive Championships, with medals the bonus on a day that was all about fun, inclusion and cheering each other on.

Now in its ninth year, the Adaptive Championships returned to @swanseabelmont, host of the inaugural event, and once again delivered a program that gives athletes of all abilities the chance to compete at their best.

From U10 sprints and flags to U19 and Open events, the energy never dipped. Daniel Driscoll from @southmaroubraslsc lit up the beach with gold in the U17 Male Beach Flags to go with four bronzes, while the @rscsurfsports impressed across the board and celebrated a huge team result close to home.

@northsteyneslsc finished the day as champion club after strong performances across multiple age groups, but the real highlight was the atmosphere. Teammates cheering every finish. Officials smiling just as much as competitors.

As SLSNSW President Elissa Hancock said, there are no bigger smiles on the beach than at the Adaptive Championships.

Four massive days at Blacksmiths Beach have come to a close and @wandasurfclubb are the Overall Point Score winners at the 2026 NSW Surf Life Saving Age Championships, proudly presented by Your Local Club.

287 points. After so many close finishes in previous years, they got it done.

@manlylsc threw down all week to finish second on 242, with host club @swanseabelmont rounding out the podium after a huge jump up the rankings from 2025 on 226.

Finals day delivered across the board. Big swims to open the morning. Fast boards in tricky conditions. Tough Irons. High pressure Camerons. All out battles in the Flags pit.

Wanda put points on early through Max Pyper and Zara Zammit-Mayer, while Thomas Penny claimed his third straight state swim title. Liam Blair put together one of the standout performances of the carnival with four gold medals in the Swim, Board, Iron and Cameron.

Molly Young and Jackson Swingler owned the Irons, @southmaroubraslsc and @northbondislsc nailed their Cameron runs, and Mostyn Brown and Takumi Golvers rose to the occasion in the Flags.

Hundreds of athletes. Four days of racing. One champion club.

Next up, Masters from 25 to 26 February, followed by Opens and Surf Boats to close out State Champs for 2026.
