#CLUBS // A historic journey replicating a feat completed half a century ago ended with great fanfare at Coolangatta last week, after members of Soldiers Beach SLSC drove an Inflatable Rescue Boat from Sydney Harbour to the Gold Coast for the 2024 World Lifesaving Championships.

#RUOK // Today is R U Ok? Day. A day to remind us to be open with asking friends/family if they are okay, and to teach the people around you how to tackle those difficult conversations. This year's theme is encouraging us to ask R U Ok? Anyday.
Over the weekend 32 surf clubs and multiple other organisations across Australia banded together to support this sentiment for the anGotcha4Life4Life 24 Hour Row.
The 24 Hour Row began with Avalon SLSC when organisers saw there was an increasing issue with mental health and suicide within their local community. Since then Gotcha4Life has taken the row on board and each year more and more teams sign up to raise money to help build Mental Fitness within Australia.

#RESCUE // 2024 NSW Awards of Excellence Rescue of the Year winners, Nathan De Rooy and Reece Dodds were awarded with their certificate at AFAC last week.
The presentation was part of a panel where they sat down with Jeremy Fernandez and the boy they rescued to discuss the incident and the importance of call out teams within surf clubs.
