As the Aquatic Operations Coordinator at Surf Life Saving NSW, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of lifeguard and water safety services across New South Wales. This full-time role, based in Belrose NSW, is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the vital work of keeping communities safe and providing exceptional lifesaving services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee water safety operations across the state, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements
  • Manage seasonal and casual aquatic staff and support the Lifeguard Supervisor network
  • Build and maintain a high-performing, professional lifeguard workforce
  • Coordinate recruitment, induction, and ongoing development of lifeguards and facilitators
  • Act as a key liaison between Supervisors and Management, and maintain accurate rostering, payroll data, and personnel records
  • Oversee asset and inventory management systems
  • Support delivery of aquatic safety services at events
  • Lead audits and investigations (including workplace incidents and near-misses) and provide detailed reporting
  • Contribute to training compliance and RTO requirements

What you’ll need

  • Significant experience in lifeguarding or similar public safety roles
  • Strong understanding of Surf Life Saving procedures, policies, and practices
  • Proven organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines independently
  • Demonstrated leadership and people-management skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
  • Current unrestricted Driver Licence
  • Willingness to travel regularly across locations
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
