Heart Attack Victim Rescued in Remote Location

An outdoor adventure guide and a group of students and school teachers he was leading were rescued in remote Kataway Bay yesterday after the guide suffered what is suspected to have been a heart attack. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of Surf Life Saving and other NSW Emergency Service agencies and the fact that the guide had a personal emergency beacon (EPIRB) with him, the group was located and transported to safety.

NSW Elite Athletes Burst Back into Action

Team Borg has taken out the first Envirobank Super Team Series event at Swansea Belmont SLSC today. The team lead by Nutri-Grain Ironman Jackson Borg (Newport SLSC) lead a team of the sports top and most talented upcoming athletes in the water and on the sand and won round one with a total of 251 points.

NSW Top Athletes Race Ready for First Event

The first Surf Life Saving NSW event for the 2020/21 season kicks off this Saturday at Swansea Belmont SLSC with the Envirobank Super Team Series. The three rounds of teams-based beach and surf racing will take place across the Hunter, Illawarra and Central Coast beaches.

Hero Nipper Wins Award for Rip Rescue

An incredible rescue by 11-year-old Nipper Lachie Muldrock has won the Surf Life Saving NSW Rescue of the Month Award for September.

It was the first week of the October school holidays and Lachie Muldrock was enjoying an early morning surf at Umina Beach with his father and uncle. Lachie,who is a keen competitor in Nippers carnivals, was getting in some practice on his much-loved race board. At around 7.30am, he noticed two young boys caught in a rip screaming for help.

Sharks, Big Crowds and Rescues keep Surf Lifesavers Busy

Surf lifesavers were flat-out across the October long weekend with high temperatures bringing huge crowds to most NSW beaches. Despite Christmas holiday like numbers on the beach and a significant number of rescues along the NSW coastline, there were no drownings thanks to the efforts of volunteer surf lifesavers and lifeguards along the coast.
