Our very popular primary aged surf education program is returning for its 28th year!

Since 1994 our enthusiastic and interactive volunteer lifesavers have been visiting schools in rural and remote areas of NSW to educate primary aged students about beach and water safety. So far we have delivered our message to 266,610 students and 1,926 schools.

Beach to Bush 2021

This year is set to be an amazing year as not only are we are extending our reach across all of rural and remote areas in NSW but we are also adding some innovation with technology VR components, allowing students to virtually learn about beach and ocean safety.

What will the students learn?

Our 45 minute presentations focus on beach and inland water safety. Students will learn about general beach safety, sun safety, rips and waves, sea creatures, basic first aid, rescues and getting help from a lifeguard. We’ll also have a curriculum aligned guide against all content for this program available for teachers.

Our tours will commence on Monday 29th November 2021 until Friday 5th December 2021. Our volunteer lifesavers are already excited and can’t wait to visit the schools and meet the students.

Best of all this program is free as it’s a fully funded program from SLSNSW!

Thank you for teaching us about water safety. I learnt that it is very important to stay inside the flags, stay calm, put your hand straight up. I learnt so much because of you sharing all your information.
