Rescue of Four People Recognised with State Award

Off-duty surf lifesavers and lifeguards who stood up together to save four lives in a successful coordinated rescue effort on the Central Coast have been awarded the Surf Life Saving NSW Rescue of the Month award in recognition of their achievements.

 

Drone Search Finds Missing Man

A Surf Life Saving NSW drone has been used to successfully locate a missing man in bushland at Port Macquarie, demonstrating the effectiveness of the technology for search and rescue applications in a variety of settings.


2021 NSW Lifesaving Development Camp

In April, Surf Life Saving NSW held its first Lifesaving Development Camp for surf lifesavers aged 16-21 years. The live-in program focused on developing and enhancing the knowledge and skills of young people, while at the same time preparing them to take on more responsibility in their patrol teams, their own clubs, and the wider community.


Mass Rescue at Tourist Hotspot Wins Award

The beautiful beaches of the Illawarra, easily accessible to people from south-western Sydney, were slammed over summer, with lots of rescues performed by lifesavers, both on patrol and in after-hours emergencies.


Nippers Save Mates Life at State Champs

Over 25,000 kids between 5-13 years took part in the Nippers junior activities program this season in NSW. They learn about surf safety, gain skills in the water as well as participate in competition with many also representing their clubs in local, branch and state championship events.
