The Surf Life Saving movement in NSW is sustained by the dedication and passion of volunteers – some 76,000 state-wide and many more across the country who often go above and beyond to ensure our coastlines and, more broadly, our coastal communities are welcoming, safe, and enjoyable.

NSW Junior Lifesavers of the Year Announced

Kaylah Broadhead of Nobbys SLSC and Calum Reiter of Coogee SLSC have been named the Ingenia Holiday Parks Junior Lifesavers of the Year after three days of team building and leadership development on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

New Junior Lifesaver of the Year Finalists Announced

Nearly 60 of the state’s brightest young lifesavers will come together on the Northern Beaches in April for the Ingenia Holiday Parks Junior Lifesaver of the Year (JLOTY) Program and the Youth Opportunity Makers (YOM) Workshop – two of Surf Life Saving NSW’s flagship youth development programs.

Pink Patrol Celebrates Women in Surf Life Saving

In recognition of International Women’s Day on Wednesday 8 March, Bondi SBLSC has once again held its ‘Pink Patrol’ – a celebration of women in Surf Life Saving and a workshop for networking, confidence building and inclusivity.

Future Leaders Named for National Program

Six Surf Life Saving NSW members have been selected among a group of 24 of the country’s up-and-coming young leaders in lifesaving to take part in the annual National Leadership College to be held in Sydney in January 2023.

Sydney Branch Life Member and Coogee SLSC all-rounder, Doug Hawkins is the latest volunteer to be awarded Surf Life Saving NSW Life Membership following the organisation’s Annual General Meeting on 11 November.
