With just 7 weeks to go until lifesavings’ night of nights, Surf Life Saving NSW is pleased to confirm the finalists for the 2018 Awards of Excellence.


More than 300 club members are expected to descend on Dockside Darling Harbour on Saturday 25 August for the annual celebration to honour the achievements of lifesavers, educators, and athletes throughout the last 12 months.

  • Administrator of the Year

  • Services Team of the Year

  • Young Volunteer of the Year (U/19)



Learning and Development – Education




  • Initiative of the Year

  • Trainer of the Year

  • Assessor of the Year

  • Facilitator of the Year

  • Community Education Program of the Year



Lifesaving




  • Patrol Captain of the Year

  • Patrol Team of the Year

  • Junior Lifesaver of the Year (U/14)

  • Young Lifesaver the Year (U/19)

  • Lifeguard of the Year

  • Rescue of the Year



Overall Awards




  • Branch of the Year

  • Club of the Year

  • Volunteer of the Year

  • Surf Lifesaver of the Year



The ceremony is always a highlight on the social calendar, and this year there will be three new awards featuring for the first time.



A Young Volunteer of the Year Award will be presented to a member under the age of 19 years who has distinguished themselves through commitment to their club and the movement.The Patrol Team of the Year recognises a team of lifesavers who have done outstanding work on the state’s beaches, while Patrol Captain of the Year acknowledges an individual who has demonstrated leadership ability on the frontline.

“While many of these members have received deserved accolades from their peers at their Branch Awards it’s a wonderful opportunity for us to acknowledge their achievements in front of the entire lifesaving community.



“I would like to encourage everyone to come along and support the event as it will be a fantastic night,” she concluded.
