“Surf clubs throughout NSW can apply for grants from $40,000 to $350,000 to help develop their facilities and address significant building condition issues. These improvements will increase usage and safety for surf club members and the wider community.
“From nippers to senior patrollers, members of Surf Life Saving clubs provide an amazing service to the people of NSW.
Surf Life Saving NSW welcomes the funding announcement by the NSW Government.
“Our dedicated volunteers, ordinary men and women who give up their time to protect the public, deserve to have safe facilities in which to train and store vital rescue equipment," said Acting CEO Adam Weir.
This vital funding program has delivered $22 million over the last 11 years to surf clubs throughout NSW.
Types of projects that will be funded include:
- construction of new surf club facilities;
- capital enhancement of the facilities at existing clubs; and
- priority will be given to those clubs identified as being in a poor or unserviceable condition.
