SLSNSW wishes to advise that there will be no lifesaving services in Sydney’s Royal National Park for at least next 48 hours.

Earlier on Saturday lifesavers from Garie SLSC assisted the NSW Rural Fire Service in performing a total evacuation of area after a bushfire broke out in the park.

The other two clubs in area; Burning Palms and Era SLSC are currently on standby for a water evacuation if needed.

Access to the Royal National Park is not possible after the park was closed by authorities.

None of the three clubs will be on patrol on Sunday and SLSNSW is urging the public to avoid the area and co-operate with any safety advice.

All park visitors have been advised to head to the beach for safety and to listen to the RFS for further updates.
