Development Clinics are run as the first step in this pathway for members who are both new to Surf Sports wanting to lead into competition, and also currently competing members that aspire to represent NSW in Surf Life Saving.
SLSNSW currently runs the following Development Clinics
- Junior Development Academy (U12-U14 athletes)
- Pool Rescue Development Clinics
- IRB Competition Development Clinics
- Beach Development Clinics
- Surf Boat Rowers Development Clinics
Clinics are organised by SLSNSW appointed facilitators, coaches and staff to be run before their respective competition as a lead in to the event.
Where scheduling of events permit, information regarding State Team selection will be provided at or shortly after the respective Development Clinic.
SLSNSW selects athletes for the following NSW Representative Teams
- NSW Surf Interstate Team
- NSW IRB Interstate Team
- NSW Surf Boat Interstate Team
- NSW Pool Rescue Interstate Team
- NSW Country Team
SLSNSW selects athletes for the following Development Teams
- U18 Pool Rescue Development Team
Nominations for all Development Clinics, NSW Representative Teams and Team Management will be released via circular on the Athlete Pathways page of the Surf Life Saving NSW website. All members must be current financial members, proficient with their relevant awards and endorsed by Club and Branch representatives to be considered eligible.
