Patrols Go Virtual During Coronavirus

It’s not only office workers who are turning to video conferencing to communicate and keep in touch during the Coronavirus pandemic. Surf lifesavers are also using this technology to stay connected with other surf club members after the Coronavirus brought forward the end of the volunteer Surf Life Saving patrol season.


Lifesavers With Pride Push the Float Out

March 2020 was a huge month for Lifesavers with Pride (LWP). The group was announced as the “Principal Float” in the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and LWP helped to forge a new partnership between Surf Life Saving Australia and ACON Health’s Pride in Sport Program.


NSW Inclusive Championships Second Year Success

The 2020 NSW Your local club Inclusive Championships was held on Sunday 1 March at Swansea Belmont as part of the NSW Championships event. For the second year, over 40 members living with a disability who are part of an Inclusive Surf Life Saving club program have had the opportunity to participate.  


Patrols Close at Major Beaches​

In consultation with the Minister for Emergency Services and the NSW Police, Surf Life Saving NSW has advised that patrols will be withdrawn from beaches where crowds exceed 500 people.
