Twenty-two of the state’s most passionate lifesavers of the future will pack their bags and travel to Sydney’s Northern Beaches in April for the 2026 NSW Junior Lifesaver of the Year (JLOTY) camp – three days of networking, activities, and idea sharing among likeminded volunteers. 

Surf Life Saving NSW Life Members – Queenscliff SLSC’s Barry Antella OAM and Bondi SBLSC’s Peter Burst have had many decades of distinguished and conspicuous service recognised by Surf Life Saving Australia with Life Membership of the national organisation. 

Surf Life Saving NSW welcomes the election of the first female President in our 118-year history, Elissa Hancock.

Congratulations to the members of Surf Life Saving NSW named in the Australia Day Honours list for 2026.   

Surf Life Saving NSW’s 18-25 Program returned for the first time in more than a decade on November 28-30, with 19 participants from 10 Branches and even a member from across the Bass Strait networking with likeminded volunteers and enhancing their leadership skills. 

Surf Life Saving NSW has welcomed two new Life Members following the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 7 November, along with the election of a new Director to the SLSNSW Board. 

More than 21,000 volunteer lifesavers will bring the iconic red and yellow back to the beach on Saturday 27 September as the 2025/26 patrolling season begins across NSW.
