Father and Son Drown on NSW Central Coast

Despite the best efforts of surf lifesavers and other emergency service responders, a 55-year-old man died and his son is in hospital after getting into difficulty in a rip at Frazer Park Beach on the NSW Central Coast.


NAIDOC Week 2020

This week Surf Life Saving NSW is celebrating NAIDOC Week 2020. NAIDOC events are held around the country each year to build awareness of the history, culture and achievements of our First Nations People, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The week is not just for our Indigenous communities, there is increasingly a growing number of government agencies, community organisations, local councils, workplaces, schools and sporting groups who join in.

To celebrate NAIDOC Week 2020, Surf Life Saving NSW spoke with some Aboriginal leaders within Surf Life Saving.


Success at Australian Pride in Sport Awards

Chairman of Lifesavers with Pride and North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club member, Gary Driscoll, recently won the Out Role Model of the Year Award at the 2020 Australian Pride in Sport Awards for his role in promoting Surf Life Saving as a safe, inclusive and welcoming movement.


Top NSW Lifesavers Honoured at the 2020 State Awards

The achievements of Surf Life Saving NSW’s finest were celebrated at the annual Surf Life Saving NSW Awards of Excellence on Saturday 29 August. Over 180 finalists, along with their friends, family and the wider Surf Life Saving community, took part in the virtual awards ceremony.
