All roads are leading to a huge finals package on Sunday at Warilla Barrack Point SLSC after another huge day at the 2025 NSW Country Championships saw some medals awarded and finals places earned in the South Coast sun.

The weather came to play on Saturday 25 January, with a huge slate of events on the program providing plenty of talking points leading into Sunday which presents as finals day in both name and structure.

There’s plenty still to be fought for tomorrow, with key Iron, Board, Ski, Swim and team races to be contested, but there were loads of big wins today as well including Cudgen Headland SLSC in the All Age Board Relay, and Byron Bay SLSC in the All Age Beach Relay.

Those events opened proceedings on Saturday before a full assortment of disciplines saw athletes challenged, with some winning medals for the first time and others going one better from previous performances.

Mia Brown from Woolgoolga SLSC and Arlo Sakora from Mollymook SLSC were two of those, with Mia winning her first gold in the U10 Female Flags and Arlo improving from bronze to gold in the U10 Male Flags.

Other Flags winners were Poppy Gibbs from Kiama SLSC in the U12 Female and Liam Tague from Narooma in the U13 Male.

Black Head SLSC’s team of Tully Kippax and Layla Amiri grabbed a gold in the Junior Female Board Rescue, while Woolgoolga’s Zara Johnson and Khloe Pepper won the Senior Female category.

Mollymook SLSC had a good win in the U19 Female Double Ski, with Eden Sakora and Lily Todd, in amongst a litany of Warilla Barrack Point wins in the category – Jordan White a fixture among many of them.

Aaron Beavis from Coffs Harbour SLSC was too strong in the 30-39 Male Iron, Kiama earned an impressive first and third for Peter Gallagher and David Griffin in the 50-59 Male Iron, and Raelene Myers grabbed points for Port Macquarie with a win in the 50-59 Female Iron.

Back to the sprint track, and Ella McDonald from Black Head was a winner in the U13 Female Beach Sprint, and Owen Wall from Kiama Downs won gold in the U14 Female Beach Sprint.
