A long-standing and passionate member spanning the Illawarra, Sydney Northern Beaches and even Western Australian, Michael has been part of almost every sports discipline in our movement and has been an official since 1978. There is no one more qualified to deliver what is set to be one of the most complex events of our time as referee of the 2021 NSW Age Championships. With his experience and pure love of surf sports events, Michael has inspiring confidence about the four-day event.
This Nipper Made Bondi History at State Champs
Krishna Dewa is just 11 years old and is Bondi SBLSC’s youngest state medallist. In 2020 he won the first-ever Age Championships title for his club in the Under 9s Beach Flags.
State of Play: 2021 Age Championships Preview
The 2021 NSW Age Championships proudly supported by Your local club is set to host 2,400 of the state’s youngest Surf Life Saving members representing 71 clubs across 11 branches. Four days of competition kicks off on Thursday with events at both Redhead Beach and Blacksmiths Beach (Swansea Belmont SLSC) in the Lake Macquarie region.
Nipper Heroes Awarded NSW Rescue of the Month
A group of surf lifesavers from The Lakes Surf Life Saving Club, including four members of a school-based Nippers training program, saved a large group of people caught in a rip at Soldiers Beach and have been awarded NSW Rescue of the Month for November.
Lifesaver Awarded for Mass Rescue of 11 People
Jerrad Allen from Pacific Palms SLSC and member of the Lower North Coast Support Operations team has attended many incidents and performed countless rescues since gaining his Bronze Medallion in 1992. This one was particularly significant for the volunteer surf lifesaver who had to assess, manage and perform a high-risk rescue single-handedly at an isolated beach.
