Our Profile of the Month for December is Lee Howes from Newcastle SLSC. The talented surf lifesaver wears many hats serving as the Chief Training Officer and Events Coordinator at her club, while also claiming a bag of medals at State, Australian and International level.

Funding to Help Surf Clubs Save Lives

Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres has announced that the NSW Government’s $2 million Surf Club Facility Grant Program for 2016-17 is open for applications from 21 December to 10 February.

Profile of the Month – January 2017

Port Macquarie SLSC brothers Eric and Peter Hammer are young lifesavers on the rise and have already earned the respect of their club for their commitment and maturity beyond their tender years. Eighteen-year-old Eric and 16-year-old Peter will both be competing at the 2017 Stramit NSW Country Championship and are well deserved nominees for Club Member of the Month.

Congratulations to all current and past members of Surf Life Saving in NSW who received Australia Day Honours. For many of the recipients it is a fitting public recognition of the significant contributions they have made to Surf Life Saving and their communities.

Profile of the Month: Jerrad Allen

Our profile of the month for March is Jerrad Allen from Pacific Palms SLSC. The Club Captain has been heavily involved with the Lower North Coast based club for the last six years after returning to the movement through his children. Jerrad has a strong passion for lifesaving that began back in the 1980s as a Nipper and he continues to give back through his time with a particular interest in training new members.

Junior Lifesavers Crowned NSW Best

It’s been a memorable day for two young lifesavers who capped off their Nipper careers in impressive style by winning the Junior Lifesaver of the Year award (JLOTY) in Sydney on Thursday.
