Tricky conditions are anticipated at Terrigal on the NSW Central Coast this weekend for the first round of the 2022 Sharkskin NSW IRB Premiership – with 16 teams from across the state set to take part.

Queenscliff SLSC’s Michael Gedz and Bondi SBLSC’s Dori Miller have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to surf sports, inducted into the SLSA Hall of Fame as Masters Legends.

The future of Surf Sports in NSW is bright after the state’s most talented junior athletes brought home a bevy of medals – many gold – by the time the Youth titles at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships had been run and won on Sunday afternoon.

Team NSW has been able to retain the Interstate Cup for the eighth straight year.

The medals were still being handed out at the NSW Championships First Aid competition inside the Queenscliff SLSC when an emergency unfolded on the beach in front – a surfer pulled from the water not breathing.

Surf Life Saving NSW has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the 2022 NSW Surf Life Saving Championships, proudly supported by Your local club.  

Titles were retained and new Champions crowned as a spread of good results for local and regional clubs alike capped an excellent second day of the NSW Age Surf Life Saving Championships, proudly supported by Your local club at Manly.
