General Info

Please note the below will be updated on Monday 22 February 2021

The following points reiterate how ticketing for Age State Championships is operating.

  • Ticketing is only required for water events at Swansea Belmont. There is no ticketing requirement for Redhead/beach events.

The following attendees will not require tickets as they will be on a guest list by name at check-in points:

  • Competitors
  • Officials (allocated and pool officials)
  • Powercraft (if attending only to undertake powercraft shifts and not spectating)

The following attendees will require a ticket to enter the Swansea Belmont site:

  • Spectators (regardless of age, which includes all children of any age who are NOT competitors)
  • Water safety (ie tubes/rescue board)
  • Powercraft where individuals are staying onsite to spectate

Each club has been allocated 1.5 tickets per competitor entered which it can distribute as it sees fit. If clubs have not yet received their ticket allocations via post, please contact

Attendees into one biozone (eg Redhead U9/11s Thursday Friday MUST NOT attend any other biozone over the course of the weekend. ie Swansea Belmont or Redhead on Sat/Sun). Club Junior Activities Coordinators/Surf Sports directors have liaised with SLSNSW for any persons requiring exemptions.

It is essential that the State Championships this year comply with the NSW Public Health Order, as such, each event bio-zone must remain under 3,000 total people. This includes competitors, officials, spectators, water safety, work party etc. In order to meet this requirement the following event bio-zones will be ticketed to all spectators:

  • U9-U11 Water at Swansea Belmont (Thursday 25 and Friday 26 February)
  • U12-U14 Water at Swansea Belmont (Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 February)
  • U15-Open Water at Swansea Belmont (Friday 5 – Sunday 7 March)

SLSNSW will be allocating 1 ticket per competitor and a further 50% of the total number of competitors within the bio-zone e.g. 100 competitors, the club will receive 100 spectator tickets with a further 50 tickets allocated for coaches, team managers and however the club wishes to delegate within the event bio-zone ‘mixing’ regulation.

Spectator tickets will be mailed to each club prior to the event for distribution. It is essential that all spectators wishing to enter the event presents a ticket for each day of competition for the bio-zone they wish to attend. No ticket = no entry, so please do not forget to bring your bio-zone event ticket each day.

Entry nominations for the March Past Championship are now open, closing Sunday 7 March

Download - Memo: 2021 NSW Surf Life Saving March Past Championships – Call for Entries and Officials

Due to maximum attendance restrictions, entries this year will be accepted as entry nominations. As such, clubs are required to only enter members into events that they intend to race.

This approach will enable SLSNSW to plan and manage the number of spectators permitted in each event area.

SLSNSW may seek clubs to self-select a smaller team if maximum events numbers are exceeded.

Competitors competing in the U9’s – U15’s are not permitted to compete up an age group for any event due to COVID mixing limitations.

More information about entries and the changes for the 2021 NSW Surf Life Saving Championships is available here.
