A Teen’s 16,000km Lifesaving Journey

Maria Flor Santana De Castro’s dad was a professional lifeguard in Brazil and when the family moved to Australia 13 years ago, he wanted nothing more than for his daughter to have a good experience on the beach and, hopefully, get involved with lifeguarding or Surf Life Saving.

Spotlight on Central Coast at State Awards

Lifesavers on the NSW Central Coast have picked up a quarter of the awards on offer, including the blue-chip Surf Lifesaver of the Year category, at the SLSNSW Awards of Excellence – the culmination of a stellar season for the Branch.

History of the Awards – Education

For Trainers, Assessors and Facilitators, it’s about getting the right people on the beach. Plain and simple. These roles are critical to the development, progression and, ultimately, achievement of our goals as members of Surf Life Saving.

History of the Awards – Membership

Surf Life Saving NSW doesn’t exist in its current form without its members – the hard-working, dedicated faces behind the rescues, first aids and community engagement we deliver along the coastline.
