As NSW slowly emerged from the depths of winter, thousands of patrolling lifesavers from all over the state eagerly anticipated the coming spring when they could once again resume their task of keeping a watchful eye on our beautiful beaches.

Surf Clubs Throw Open Doors

On Sunday 16 October 89 surf clubs from across NSW will throw open their doors to the public to give an insight into the vital role that the modern day surf lifesaver plays within their community.

Beach Signs Crucial To Public Safety

In an ongoing effort to reduce the drowning toll, Surf Life Saving NSW has received funding from the Surf Life Saving Australia Beach Drowning Blackspot Reduction Program to use in a variety of innovative projects to further improve public awareness.

Profile of the Month: William Vaughan-Smith

Our Profile of the Month for September is William Vaughan-Smith from Bermagui SLSC. The 20-year-old joined Surf Life Saving three seasons ago for the chance to socialise with his peers. It proved to be a fruitful decision as he has become heavily involved with the movement, which culminated in being awarded the title of Far South Coast Lifesaver of the Year for 2016.

Young Pool Guns Ready To Take On Kiwis

After packing the essential swimmers, goggles, training equipment and passports, the NSW U18 Pool Rescue Development team even had room in their luggage for optimism as they gathered at Sydney International Airport on Wednesday morning for their flight to New Zealand.
