Lifesavers on Alert, Drownings Up

Beachgoers looking to make the most of a warm start to spring this week are being urged to take water safety seriously with volunteer surf life saving patrols still more than a fortnight away.


2018 Midford Board Riding Championships Final Results

The 2018 Midford Board Riding Championships took place at North Narrabeen between 7 - 9 September. The state's top surfers from as far north as Cudgen Headland and down to Shoalhaven made their way to one of the most iconic surf breaks in the country in an effort to claim a 2018 state title.

Congratulations to every competitor from the under 14s right through to the masters, a solid three days of surfing in testing conditions. SLSNSW is appreciative of the long hours and support of the competition officials, as well as the North Narrabeen surf club, North Narrabeen Boardriders and Surfing NSW who made the event a success. 


Surfers And Lifesavers Reach Historic Agreement

For the first time since surfing’s boom in popularity in the 1960s, leaders of Surf Life Saving NSW and Surfing NSW have reached an agreement between the two state bodies. Increased cooperation, strong developmental pathways for athletes, and shared industry knowledge are just some of the many benefits for Australia’s coastal communities.

Surf Life Saving NSW is saddened to hear of the passing of Australian Olympian, surf sport legend and former Maroubra SLSC Life Member Dennis Green OAM earlier this week.
