A magic weekend of IRB (Inflatable Rescue Boat) racing at Mollymook has seen Kiama Downs SLSC break its NSW Championship victory drought.

Over 250 of the state’s best surf lifesavers will trade the beach for the pool in Sydney this weekend as they battle for medals and glory at the 2016 NSW Surf Life Saving Pool Rescue Championships.

There wasn’t a wave in sight, but fast times were certainly on the menu as lifesavers battled it out at a tightly fought Pool Rescue Championships at the Ryde Aquatic and Leisure Centre last weekend.

After a winter of thrilling races during the Premiership Series and at the State Championships, IRB crews from all around NSW will be seeking glory when they return to Mollymook SLSC this weekend for the season ending Interstate and Australian Championships.

Congratulations and best of luck to all members selected in the 2016 SLSNSW Pool Interstate Team to compete at the Surf Life Saving Interstate Pool Rescue Championships from 5-7 August.

The 2016 IRB (Inflatable Rescue Boat) racing season concluded on the weekend at Mollymook Beach in spectacular fashion with a host of NSW clubs enjoying success at the season-ending Australian Titles.

Surf Life Saving NSW is pleased to confirm the selections for the 2016 NSW U18 Pool Rescue Development team who will tour New Zealand in October.

The 2017 NSW Country Team has been announced to compete at the Trans-Tasman Tri-Series in New Zealand.

In the final Interstate discipline for 2016 the NSW Pool Rescue Team was unable to halt the Queensland juggernaut on the Gold Coast last weekend finishing the competition with the silver medal.
